Safeguarding at Quernmore
At Quernmore we take our duty of safeguarding our children very seriously therefore we prioritise the safety and well-being of all our students. We know that creating a safe and inclusive environment is essential for their development and success. Our safeguarding measures are designed to ensure that all children feel secure, protected, and supported throughout their time at our school. We also help the children to safeguard themselves through a programme called Kidsafe. This ensures that children know exactly what to do if they are upset or worried about anything.
Staff receive training regularly and they are kept up to date with any changes in guidance.
Our safeguarding is regularly audited by LCC so we can ensure that our policy and practice is up to date and robust.
Our headteacher and Chair of Governors are both trained in safer recruitment so that we can ensure the staff we employ are suitable.
We have three designated safeguarding leads in our school (DSL) who receive indepth training. They are Miss Richardson, Mrs Standen and Mrs Hodgson.
Our Safeguarding Governor is Mrs Becky King.
