SEND Information
Introduction
Dear parents,
Welcome to our SND information page! We understand that every child is unique and may have different educational needs. Therefore, we are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Our SEND Team
At Quernmore Primary School, we have a dedicated team of professionals who work together to ensure that your child's individual needs are met. Miss Richardson is our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo); she oversees all aspects of SEND provision within the school. She works closely with teachers, teaching assistants, and external agencies to develop personalised strategies and support plans for each child with SEND.
We are committed to providing inclusive education for all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities. We have arrangements in place for the admission of disabled pupils to ensure that they receive the support and accommodations they need to thrive in our school environment. Our dedicated SEND team works closely with parents and external agencies to create individualized plans that meet the unique needs of every child. We believe in creating a nurturing and supportive environment where all children can reach their full potential.
Support Services
We believe in collaborative partnerships between parents, carers, and the school to ensure the best outcomes for children with SEND. Our support services include regular communication, progress reviews, and parent consultations. We strive to create a welcoming atmosphere where parents feel comfortable discussing their child's needs and contributing to their educational journey.
Additionally, we work closely with external professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists, to provide specialized support to children with specific needs. These professionals play a vital role in assessing and addressing any additional requirements your child may have.
